A natural Mayfly Nymph imitation with a pheasant tail. The dark rust color coated with uv resin and flashy collar can also immitate small stoneflies and emerging nymphs. In April of 2024 I had one of my best days on the Weber river, Utah with this exact fly. There were both Mayfly nymphs and emerging adults that the trout were keyed in on, rejecting everything else. Because of that day I had to add this to my selection in hopes you'll find the same success.
PRO TIP: Flip some rocks and use a bug sciene (screen) to see what's free floating or emerging in the current. If you find Mayflies or dark colored nymphs match thier size and color. Often this little Pheasant tail jig is just what the trout are waiting for.
