A tiny little secret that simply works. I came up with this bug to match the smaller green caddis larvae I've found and featured in some of my videos. Yes caddis get big, but we can't forget the tiny larvae trout gorge on during the early stages of growth. Size matters especially when trout key in on a newly hatched bug.
For tight line euro or tenkara, I'll usually pair one or two of these on my dropper tag with a tungsten caddis on point. For traditional loops I'll tie one under a dry fly or indicator as a light dropper. During winter, I'll pair it with a midge as an attractor. The chartruese lime is a must in my box.
Size 18 (This is a small 18 closer to a 19)
Barbless
Unweighted, lightly coated with resin, keeps it in the mid water column like an emerger.
